BABY BOY MINI ALBUM: "JACOB"

Hello Crafty Friends!

Wow has it really been four months since I've posted? This Summer was just full of doing fun family things that I didn't have a moment to scrap.  I did finish some projects that needed completion, so as I find the time to blog again, I'll be getting those up as soon as possible.

The first up is the Baby Boy Mini Album that I made for my friend's little boy.  It's a very simple chipboard album from Clear Scraps, that I just covered in different patterned paper and cardstock from my random stash.  I also added some 4x6 chipboard pages and made Simple Paper Bag Envelopes (inspired by Stephanie from With A Grin).

Keepsake box houses the mini album.
Used my Cricut for the title, and "Create A Critter" (Cartridge) for the dinosaur.

Front Cover.
"It's a Boy!" is a sticker, that I backed with cardstock and popped up with foam adhesive.  "Welcome Little One" is a stamp from Fiskars.  I cut out the name, "Jacob" using "Storybook" (Cricut Cartridge).

Pages 1 & 2.  "Just Arrived" is a wood-block stamp.

Pages 3 & 4.  "Mother" is a 7Gypsies stamp.  The onesie and footprints are cut from "New Arrival" (Cricut Cartridge).

Pages 5 & 6.  "Sweet Dreams" is a Fiskars stamp.  Here is the first "Simple Paper Bag Envelope".  The sentiments are also stamps from Fiskars.

Pages 7 & 8.  More stamping from Fiskars.

Pages 9 & 10.  Second "Simple Paper Bag Envelope" and more Fiskars stamping.

Pages 11 & 12.  Cuts made from "New Arrival" Cricut Cartridge.

Pages 13 & 14.  "Dad" stamp from 7Gypsies.

Pages 15 & 16.  P 16 has a fold out for more photos/journaling.

Back Cover.

One last look at the front cover.

Making "Ladybug Love" Card w. Cricut Craft Room

Happy Saturday Crafty Friends!

Today I thought I would show you how I created my "Ladybug Love" Card for the Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog (FCCB) using the Cricut Craft Room and my Cricut Expression.

Here, I've designed my Ladybug using the Create A Critter cart in the Cricut Craft Room.

Then, I decided on what colors would be assigned to which part of the Ladybug.

Loaded up my mat into my Cricut Expression and *CUT*!

Finished cuts.

Took off all of the excess paper.

I used the ever adorable Peachy Keen Stamps to give my Ladybug her darling face.
(PK-755 Critter Faces SET A Large)

Assembled my Ladybug and added white Gelly Roll pen to the eyes.

Chose my background paper (DCWV Extreme "Everyday" Stack), and glued down my Ladybug's shadow as well as the matte for my die cut phrase.

Used foam adhesive to give the words, "love bug" and my Ladybug some dimension.

And, here is the finished product.

You can view my Ladybug Love post here.

This card was also entered into the Peachy Keen Stamps Challenge #20.

Creative Cutter Room Blog Hop & Challenge: Strolling Through The Park

Hello Crafty Friends!

Here is my submission for the
Creative Cutter Room Blog Hop & Challenge:

For this challenge we were to create a project incorporating something you would see in a park and had to include 4 elements!  In order to discover what the 4 elements were, we had to hop through the design team's blogs.  Four out of six blogs would have one element.

The four elements are:  Color, Charm, Glitter & Embossing.

I started with a 5"x6 1/2" white card base.  To it, I added "sky" patterned paper from DCWV.  The "grass" is from the Sweet Stack.  The butterfly  and the flowers were cut from the "New Arrival" Cricut Cartridge.  The tree, squirrel and sun were cut from the "Create A Critter" Cricut Cartridge.  The clouds were cut from the "Sesame Street - Seasons" Cricut Cartridge.

I EMBOSSED the CLOUDS and TREE with my Cuttlebug, using the D'Vine Swirl folder.  The CHARM is from my stash, it's tied with a piece of twine that a little birdie must have left behind, hehe.  The COLOR is from Sky Blue Pearlescent INK from Brilliance, as I used it to add dimension to the CLOUDS.  I used a green Zig PEN to draw the flower's STEMS.  I used Peachy Keen Stamps to give faces to the FLOWERS, SUN AND BUTTERFLY.  I used a white Gelly Roll PEN for the EYES.  And, a pink Super Tips from Crayola MARKER for their' CHEEKS.  For the GLITTER element, I used different color STICKLES on the TREE, BUTTERFLY, FLOWERS AND SUN.  Gotta love BLING!

This card was inspired by what I envisioned a young child would draw as a nice spring day in the park.  I kept the proportions off on purpose, and wanted it to look cartoony rather than realistic.

I hope you enjoy.
