Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Me Monday #99

Hello Crafty Friends!

"LOVE"

Here is my submission for the

Challenge #99 – Fancy Trims
Use fabric, lace or other trims on your project.

I used a sheer pink ribbon layered underneath a dark, burgundy ribbon on this "love"card.  I used the "Sweethearts" Cricut cartridge for the word, "Love".

Krafty Girls Challenge #1: Home Sweet Home

Hello Crafty Friends!

"BROADWAY"

This is my submission for the
Krafty Girls Challenge #1:  Home Sweet Home

Being a native New Yorker, and an avid theatre goer, I couldn't think of any better representation of my Home Sweet Home than the Big Apple!  Here, I made a 6"x8" card in the shape of a "ticket" to represent a theatre ticket.  I used both rhinestones and silver stickles to represent the "marquis lights" on the theatres.  I used glitter on everything else.  I cut the word "Broadway" using the Lyrical Letters Cricut cartridge, Stretch Your Imagination to cut the "Apple" (which is really a pumpkin), and Plantin Schoolbook to cut the City Skyline.

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

February Tag 2012: LOVE

Hello Crafty Friends!

"LOVE TAG"

I started making this tag for my husband, and then I got to thinking that it would be a really great challenge for myself to make one tag, per month.  Simple.  Complete one small tag, and... done!  One project per month, creativity satisfied and a personal sense of pride gained.  But as I was doing the one tag, I was loving it so much, that I just started making two identical tags.  So here's my little goal for the year, make 2 (mostly) identical tags each month, keep one and give one away.  And, the "give away" one will be based on something specific happening in that month for that particular friend/family member.  What do ya think?  Think I can handle that?  I think so!

Okay, so I began making this tag for my husband, because we got engaged 4 years ago on February 19th, and I wanted to make something for him as part of his gift (yes, we celebrate a few "anniversaries" throughout the year).

Here is the back of the tag... yup, a pocket!

A tag within a tag!

Side by Side.

On the back side of the tag, I'm going to attach a photo of us.

Okay, so now I'm already a month behind, as you've probably realized.  But it's just one month, I am on a roll, so next up SHOULD BE my January tag.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

***UPDATE***
Tim Holtz is doing his own 12 tags of 2012 Challenge,
so I JUST submitted this tag for February.

VIDEO: Marion Smith's 31 Day Challenge

So, the great news is that I completed Marion Smith's 31 Day Challenge (that's the cover above)... and the even better news is that I got it done in time for the deadline (today, 2/4/12, via video response to her challenge video) to be entered in the drawing to win her brand new Prima line.  And, the even better news is that I made a quick video giving you and overview of the project.  Yes, it took me ALL day (thank you, hubs for holding down the fort), but it was certainly a labor of love.  Please enjoy!

Thanks for visiting my blog!  Hope you'll be back soon!
