May Tag 2012: MARIPOSA

Hello Crafty Friends!

Happy National Scrapbooking Day!
I hope everyone had a chance to do something creative today.
I did.  I worked on two projects.  I am almost finished with a mini album that I am working on for my sister.  And, I made my "May" tag for 2012.

I used DCWV's "Mariposa" paper.  I LOVE this stack!
And, I used "Vintage Photo" Distress ink for the edges.
I also used Glossy Accents on the small butterflies.

This is also my May submission to
So, what do ya think?

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

Die Cuttin' Divas #57 "Music"

Hello Crafty Friends!

"JUST A NOTE"

Here is my submission for the

The card base, when folded, is 4"x6".  I printed blank sheet music onto mauve cardstock.  I distressed the edges of both with Tim Holtz Distress Ink in Purple Concord.  The music notes were cut from the Stretch Your Imagination Cricut Cartridge (they are part of the "chick" cut).  The black ribbon is from my stash.  I printed the words "Just A Note" onto another shade of purple cardstock from my computer.  I layered and used Stickles to accent.  And, used foam dots to pop it up.  I also used purple and diamond Stickles on the music notes.

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

I left the back blank, because I'll be writing a note on the back to the recipient of this tag.

#100 – FCCB Color Challenge Use the three colours associated with Fantabulous Cricut
(purple, green and turquoise) somewhere on your project.

This is a 6"x4" tag that I cut out of manilla paper using the Sweethearts Cricut cartridge.  The stamp shape and the words "Thanks So Much" are from the Stamping Solutions Cricut cartridge, using both the image and the shadow effect

I am also submitting this tag as my March submission to

February Tag 2012: LOVE

Hello Crafty Friends!

"LOVE TAG"

I started making this tag for my husband, and then I got to thinking that it would be a really great challenge for myself to make one tag, per month.  Simple.  Complete one small tag, and... done!  One project per month, creativity satisfied and a personal sense of pride gained.  But as I was doing the one tag, I was loving it so much, that I just started making two identical tags.  So here's my little goal for the year, make 2 (mostly) identical tags each month, keep one and give one away.  And, the "give away" one will be based on something specific happening in that month for that particular friend/family member.  What do ya think?  Think I can handle that?  I think so!

Okay, so I began making this tag for my husband, because we got engaged 4 years ago on February 19th, and I wanted to make something for him as part of his gift (yes, we celebrate a few "anniversaries" throughout the year).

Here is the back of the tag... yup, a pocket!

A tag within a tag!

Side by Side.

On the back side of the tag, I'm going to attach a photo of us.

Okay, so now I'm already a month behind, as you've probably realized.  But it's just one month, I am on a roll, so next up SHOULD BE my January tag.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by! :-)

***UPDATE***
Tim Holtz is doing his own 12 tags of 2012 Challenge,
so I JUST submitted this tag for February.
